This weekend the kids and I (along with my sister and nieces) enjoyed John C. Fremont days. For the past 22 years our town has held a three day event to celebrate times of old. They have people dressed in clothes from the 1800s with tents all around and reenactments too. On Friday, the kids and I went to the petting zoo that was put on by the local 4-H.

A mama goat trying to keep cool in the day, it got up to 94 this day.

Jorja really liked the baby horse, but he wouldn’t go near anyone.

So instead, she settled for feeding the mama horse.

Jayson decided he wanted to pet this llama, but he wouldn’t come very close to him.
The petting zoo was kind of small, but the kids enjoyed seeing the animals. The next day, Jess and I met up at the Wild West show and then walked around the rest of the day together. It was nice spending time with my sister.

Before the show began, one of the cowboys posed for me — isn’t he cute.

During the show, one of the cowboys asked for a volunteer. Lily got to go up. He was showing how they can rope horses around the neck if need be. This shot was perfect since I caught it right as the rope landed on their necks.

Group shot — left to right: Jayson, Jorja, Lily, Alexis, Quisha and Cauner — back row: Jess and me.
On Sunday the kids and I attended the parade, but I haven’t gotten a chance to go through those photos since I let Quisha take pictures and she got over 25 of the parade — mostly of the “cool” cars. Ah teenagers.
